Airport Lounge Guide: Da Nang International Airport (DAD)
Da Nang International Airport (DAD) may very well be your first taste of Vietnam’s charm. Serving central Vietnam and the region’s major city of Da Nang, it is the third international airport in the country alongside Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
Da Nang's International Terminal (T2) has been awarded a prestigious 5-star rating by the international air transport rating organization Skytrax for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025). Furthermore, the airport as a whole was ranked among the Top 100 Best Airports in the World in both 2024 and 2025, improving its position to 84th globally in the most recent ranking. Overall, we consider it be a pleasant airport to spend time in, regardless of whether you plan to use an airport lounge.
The airport has 9 airport lounges split between T1 and T2, with 8 of these currently open. A covered walkway connects the terminals, with walking time being no more than 5 minutes.
With 13.4 million passengers flowing through annually (as of late 2024), both terminals can get very busy, and travelers should be aware of their lounge options, particularly when looking for respite from the main terminal departure areas.
Our guide covers everything you need to enjoy your time at DAD. Whether you're flying within the country or abroad, we'll take you through all 9 lounges, showing their perks, access rules, prices, and tips to help you relax, freshen up, or work comfortably.
We’ll also cover essential terminal information, navigating between T1 and T2 with ease, transportation options to and from the city, and practical travel tips for first-time visitors.

Terminal 2 Lounges
Terminal 2 handles all international flights at Da Nang Airport. Major carriers including Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, and AirAsia operate from this terminal, with most non-SkyTeam airlines directing premium passengers to the CIP Orchid Lounge.
CIP Orchid Lounge
Unless you’re using the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge in T2, most passengers in an eligible travel class or with status are directed to the CIP Orchid Lounge, as it offers a broad range of accessibility options.
The lounge has a modern, slightly eclectic feel to it. There is an open-air terrace near reception, while just inside the buffet area is surrounded by a mix of dining tables and dark leather armchairs. The space then opens up into a bright main lounge with additional armchair seating, sofas, and floor-to-ceiling windows for ample natural light. Guests will also find iMac workstations, TV viewing capsules, and distinctive yellow seating cubbies.
This lounge is currently busier than usual due to the temporary closure and refurbishment of the CIP Orchid Lounge No 2. Travelers are being redirected here, leading to increased occupancy and wait times. We recommend to plan accordingly and allow extra time for access.
Location: Terminal 2, Mezzanine Floor. After clearing security and immigration, passengers should turn right, and after a short walk, take the escalator or elevator up a floor.

Which Lounge is Best?
Your ideal lounge choice at Da Nang International Airport depends on your airline, departing terminal, and what kind of experience you’re looking for. Here’s how the top options stack up depending on your travel needs:
Best Independent Contract Lounge
Our recommendation depends on your departure terminal.
For international departures, the CIP Orchid Lounge 1 in Terminal 2 is the undisputed best choice for this category due to its acceptance of a wide array of access methods, including Priority Pass, LoungeKey, and direct payment, combined with its 24/7 operation and extensive amenities. The CIP Orchid Lounge 2 may fall into category once upgrades are finished, albeit will be within a somewhat smaller space.
For domestic travelers, the SH Premium Lounge is the winner in this category, offering a clean, modern space with all the essential amenities at a relatively low price point (typically around ~$15–$23 USD). Access is available via LoungePair, popular lounge membership programs like Priority Pass, credit card issuers such as American Express and Diners Club, and walk-in payment.
A close runner-up recommendation for domestic travellers is the Business Class Lounge C2, which is available on walk-up for a very similar low price (360,000-450,000 VND, or ~$14-18 USD).
Best for Vietnam Airlines Passengers
Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge (both Domestic and International) - Exclusively for Business Class and SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying Vietnam Airlines or other SkyTeam carriers, these lounges offer a distinctly local feel with traditional artwork and curated buffet offerings. They are integrated into the Vietnam Airlines experience, making these lounges not only the best but only option for those not otherwise wishing to pay to use another lounge.
Best Value for Short Stays on Arrival
CIP Orchid Lounge 3 (Arrivals Area) - Located near the baggage claim in the International Arrivals area, this lounge is a great spot to wait for luggage or a pickup. Entry is typically low-cost (often around $5 USD), with comfortable seating, drinks, Wi-Fi, and a modern, vibrant design. It’s ideal for those wanting just a brief rest or refresh without needing full pre-departure amenities.

Practical Airport Information
Getting To and From the Airport
Public bus services to Da Nang Airport are currently suspended, with Bus Route 12 (DanaBus) halted since 2023 and until further notice. This suspension unfortunately forces all travellers to rely on taxis, ride hailing services, or pre-arranged transfers for the 3-5 kilometre journey to the city centre.
Taxi Services
Taxi Services from operators Mai Linh and VinaSun charge 80,000-120,000 VND ($3-5 USD) for the 10-15-minute ride downtown. Fixed meters prevent overcharging, though confirming the meter's activation remains wise. Beach hotels require 150,000-200,000 VND ($6-8 USD) for the extended journey. Tipping isn't expected in Vietnamese taxi culture.
Hailing a ride
Grab dominates South East Asia’s ride-hailing market. Standard Grab cars cost 60,000-100,000 VND ($2.50-4 USD) to the city centre, with a designated pickup area at Lane 1. Solo travellers comfortable with motorbike transport can utilise Grab Bike for 25,000-50,000 VND ($1-2 USD), receiving a helmet and significantly faster travel times during peak traffic.
Navigating Between Terminals
A covered walkway connects Terminals 1 and 2, requiring about 5 minutes of walking. The path has clear signage and is weather protected, though the distance may challenge passengers with mobility concerns or lots of luggage. No shuttle service operates between terminals, making taxi services the only alternative for those unable to walk.
Above: Plan showing walkway at ground level from T2 connecting to T1. If connecting between international and domestic, you should turn right as you leave the international terminal after customs.
Security rescreening applies when changing terminals, so you should make sure you have enough time for domestic to international transfers. The absence of airside connections means all interterminal passengers must exit and re-enter through security checkpoints.
Wi-Fi and Connectivity
Free Wi-Fi covers both terminals under the "DANangAirport_Wifi" network. Connection requires basic registration with a phone number or email address. Speeds generally support work tasks and video calls, though peak period congestion can slow performance. As network names can change, we recommend looking for a network with "Da Nang Airport" in its name and follow the on-screen registration prompts.
Currency and Payment
ATMs
BIDV, Agribank, and VietinBank aims are available throughout both terminals and accept international cards. Withdrawal limits typically cap at 3,000,000 VND per transaction with fees ranging from 20,000-50,000 VND ($1-2 USD). Multiple withdrawals may be necessary for larger amounts
Currency Exchange
Counters in arrival and departure areas offer convenience at the cost of unfavourable rates. Experienced travellers exchange minimal amounts for immediate needs, deferring larger transactions to city banks or gold shops offering better rates.
SIM Cards
Vietnam's three major carriers (Viettel, Vinaphone, and Mobifone) are sold at arrival hall kiosks. Viettel provides the most comprehensive coverage for travellers venturing beyond Da Nang. Tourist packages range from 160,000-300,000 VND ($6-12 USD) for multi day data plans including calls. Staff can help assist with installation and activation.
Relaxation Options: Sleep Pods & Bamboo Spa
Aside from the airport lounges, travellers can take advantage of Sleep Pod and the Bamboo Spa, both located in Terminal 2 (International Departures).
Sleep Pod offers private, enclosed sleeping pods with bedding, lighting, outlets, and Wi-Fi. This is ideal for short layovers or early flights. Located near Gates 8–10, pricing is hourly and available on site (typically around $10 USD for 3 hours).
The Bamboo Spa provides traditional massages, hot stone therapy, and aromatherapy. Walk-ins are welcome; check directly for pricing at the spa counter.
