Guide: Pearl Lounges at Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) [Updated 2025]

Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is the largest airport in Sweden and is located about 40 kilometres north of Stockholm city centre. It serves as a hub for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Norwegian Air Shuttle, offering flights to many destinations within Sweden, Europe, and the rest of the world.

Arlanda Airport has two Pearl Lounges that are associated with Plaza Premium, located in Terminals 2 and 5. These lounges feature modern decor that reflects Scandinavian design principles, a variety of complementary foods and beverages, and an array of amenities designed to enhance the airport experience for all passengers.

This guide provides detailed information on the location of these lounges, opening hours, amenities, and access options along with pricing.

Pearl Lounge (Terminal 2)

Lounge Location and Directions

Located airside after security in Terminal 2. Turn left past Duty Free and take the first green staircase (or lift) on the left to the 4th floor; the lounge entrance is at the top, inside the O’Learys restaurant area.

This lounge is accessible for passengers departing from Terminal 2 on either Schengen or non-Schengen flights, as well as passengers arriving into Terminal 2 on a Schengen flight. Non‑Schengen arrivals are funnelled through immigration and cannot back‑track to the lounge. Gates 70 to 87 are the non-Schengen gates in this terminal, and are on the upper floor, reached by stairs/escalator near gate 68.

Note that if on non-Schengen flight, you will need to factor in additional time to clear passport-control and get to your gate. We only recommend visiting this lounge if you are on a flight from this specific terminal.

Layout and Seating

Lagom is a Swedish word that translates roughly to ‘just the right amount’ or ‘not too much, not too little.’ It embodies a philosophy of balance, moderation and sustainability that influences Swedish culture, lifestyle and design.

The Pearl Lounges embody this principle of lagom, striking a balance between clean functionality and natural, comfortable aesthetics.

Upon entering, guests are welcomed into a spacious main area featuring a variety of seating options. This includes armchairs, sofas, and communal tables.

Beyond the central space, the lounge offers more secluded areas partitioned by walls. These sections provide additional privacy, making them ideal for quiet work or rest.

Pearl Lounge (Terminal 5 - Gate C37)

Lounge Location and Directions

This lounge is located airside in Terminal 5 (Schengen side) on Pier C. After security, follow the signs for C-Gates. If coming in via the Terminal 4 check-in area, this will practically be a straight walk ahead. The walk from other gates/Piers will be longer, and you will need to factor in additional time. You will need to take the lift/stairs opposite Gate C37 – the lounge is on the mezzanine.

While this lounge is availabe for both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers, non-Schengen passengers must allow extra time for passport control after their lounge visit, and if transiting, be eligible to clear immigration. We personally recommend that this lounge is visited for Schengen Flights only, given the distance to the F-Gate non-Schengen area of Terminal 5.

Opening Hours

Layout and Seating

The lounge occupies two adjoining rooms:

  • Reception/buffet room - immediately after the lift/stairs, with café‑style two‑ and four‑top tables and a low counter housing the self‑serve buffet and drinks taps.

  • Main lounge room - significantly larger, lined by a floor‑to‑ceiling window wall that floods the space with daylight and provides apron views. Seating is deliberately mixed: lounge armchairs grouped around coffee tables, high‑back sofa benches, bar‑height worktops with stools, and a handful of low ottomans. Power sockets (Euro type F) are tucked beside almost every window or wall seat.

Muted grey walls, natural‑wood floors and scattered pot plants give a pared‑back, Scandinavian feel..

Pearl Lounge (Terminal 5 - Gate E1)

The Pearl Lounge at Terminal 5 near Gate E1 permanently closed from April 2025, due to operational changes at Stockholm Arlanda. After this date, eligible passengers are now redirected to the Pearl Lounge located near Gate C37.

Passengers planning travel from April 2025 should factor in additional time to reach the Gate C37 lounge if departing from D-F Gates, including allowing time to clear any necessary passport checks if on a non-Schengen flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can non-Schengen passengers use the Terminal 5 Pearl Lounge?

Yes. The Terminal 5 lounge is located in the Schengen area (Pier C), but non-Schengen travelers can access it before their flight. You must first go through security as usual. If your flight is non-Schengen (e.g. long-haul outside EU), you’ll delay passport control until after visiting the lounge. When ready to head to your gate, allow extra time to clear outbound Passport Control after leaving the lounge. (Schengen passengers don’t have passport control and can proceed directly to their gates). Given the distance between the lounge at C24 and the F-Gates, however, we suggest that you only visit the Pearl Lounge in the Schengen area if you have an extended period of time before your flight.

Do these lounges have shower facilities?

No – neither the T2 nor T5 Pearl Lounges at ARN have a shower. The amenities include restrooms, but no showers or spa services. If you need to freshen up with a shower, you would have to use other facilities at the airport (there are public showers in Terminal 5 baggage claim for a fee, but not inside the lounge).

What is the maximum stay and can I extend it?

The standard entry is for up to 3 hours in the lounge. This applies whether you pay for a timed pass or access via membership. In practice, lounge staff may allow a bit of leeway if the lounge isn’t busy, but during peak periods they enforce the 3-hour limit. If you need to stay longer due to a flight delay, inform the staff – you may be able to purchase an extension or, if space permits, they might be lenient. However, plan for about 3 hours of lounge time per visit.

Are children allowed, and do they need to pay?

Children are welcome in the lounges. Infants and toddlers under 3 years old are admitted free with an adult (they do not count toward your pass quota). Children 3 years and older are usually charged as a regular adult guest. The lounges have highchairs available and offer basic kid-friendly food (like bread, fruit, yogurt), though they do not have dedicated play areas. Note that an adult must supervise minors at all times.

What does the Plaza Premium Lounge include?

At Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the two Pearl Lounges in partnership with Plaza Premium generally provide a variety of comfortable seating options, complimentary food and beverages, Wi-Fi, TV, and charging ports.

How many Terminals are at Arlanda Airport?

As of 2025, there are four Terminals at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, though Terminal 4 is more of a check-in area and less of an actual terminal for flights.

  1. Terminal 2 (T2) – Handles international flights, primarily used by non-Star Alliance airlines. Accommodates primarily Schengen and limited number ofnon-Schengen flights.

  2. Terminal 3 (T3) – A small terminal dedicated to domestic regional flights.

  3. Terminal 4 (T4) – Was historically a dedicated terminal, however once a walkway was created between what was previously Terminal 4 and Terminal 5, all gates were consolidated under the Terminal 5 banner. Now used for check-in only, and then connects into Terminal 5 gates.

  4. Terminal 5 (T5) – The largest terminal, serving both Schengen and non-Schengen international flights, and home to most major airlines, including Star Alliance members.

Who owns Pearl Lounges?

The Pearl Lounges at Stockholm Arlanda Airport are operated by Menzies in partnership with Plaza Premium Group, a global airport hospitality company that manages independent lounges worldwide.

The Pearl Lounges at Arlanda (Terminal 2 & Terminal 5) were previously known as Menzies Aviation Lounges and were rebranded under the Pearl brand.

Is the Terminal 5 Plaza Premium Pearl Lounge closing in 2025?

Yes, the Pearl Lounge in Terminal 5 near Gate E1 closed after 31 March 2025. This is due to operational changes. After that date, passengers are now directed to the Pearl Lounge next to Gate C37. Travelers flying from ARN after March 2025 should double-check the available lounge location when booking. Terminal 2’s lounge is unaffected and remains operational in 2025.

Who can access Pearl Lounge Arlanda?

There are varying means of obtaining access to the Pearl Lounges at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Terminals 2 and 5:

1. Airline Class and Status:

  • Business and First-Class Passengers: Travelers holding business or first-class tickets with airlines that have agreements with Pearl Lounge are granted access.
