Singapore Changi Terminal 2: Lounges and Renovation Guide 2025-2027
Terminal 2 at Singapore Changi Airport is the main hub for Singapore Airlines’ regional flights across Southeast Asia but a diverse mix of carriers also operate from here, offering both regional and long-haul routes. In fact, more than half of the Star Alliance airlines serving Singapore use T2, making it a key gateway for alliance travellers as well as those flying with non-alliance carriers like Etihad Airways and Malaysia Airlines.
Terminal 2 fully reopened in late 2023 after undergoing a long term expansion project, revealing a refreshed departure hall, larger garden spaces and improved service check-in technology.
Singapore Airline’s flagship SilverKris lounges at Terminal 2, however, are still undergoing phased renovations through to 2027. That means lounge access may look a little different for premium passengers, especially during peak travel periods.
This guide outlines what’s open, what’s changing, and where to go for a seamless lounge experience.

Renovation Timeline and Impact
While Terminal 2’s expansion reopened to the public in November 2023, Singapore Airlines’ three T2 SilverKris lounges (First Class, Business Class and KrisFlyer Gold) are undergoing a separate S$45 million (US$35 million) renovation project through mid-2027.
Once complete, the renovated lounges will offer improved comfort, privacy, and dining variety for premium and elite Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance passengers traveling through T2.
Artistic impression of predicted renovations
A phased approach aims to minimise disruption to passengers. The following is a general outline of the renovations to the lounges:
SilverKris First Class Lounge:
Closed April 2025 through Q4 2025
Expansion from ~200 to 300 seats
New live cooking stations and upgraded shower suites
SilverKris Business Class Lounge
Renovation begins Q4 2025 but will remain open with full services until then
Will offer 30% more space, new productivity pods, and a full-service bar with barista coffee and evening cocktails
KrisFlyer Gold Lounge
Currently open but slated to begin upgrades in first half of 2026
Renovations are expected to double capacity and introduce showers, restrooms, and more modern seating
Navigating Renovation Disruptions
If you are flying with Singapore Airlines or a Star Alliance airline from T2, you will still have access to premium lounge services, although you may need to travel between terminals.
Check in at T2
All Singapore Airlines passengers departing from T2 must check in there, regardless of where they plan to use a lounge. This applies to first and business class passengers, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members. The only exceptions are certain connecting passengers or PPS Club members who may be directed otherwise.
Travel to T3
After check-in, eligible passengers are encouraged to take the Skytrain to T3 to access Singapore Airlines' newer SilverKris lounges. These lounges offer upgraded design, enhanced privacy, and a wider range of food and beverage options compared to the older spaces in T2.
The Skytrain between Terminals 2 and 3 takes only 2-3 minutes and runs every few minutes from 5:00am-2:30am.
Tips for a smooth lounge experience
Confirm your lounge access and opening hours using the Singapore Airlines app 48 hours before departure
Plan for 20-30 extra minutes to check in, visit a T3 lounge, and return to your departure gate in T2
Buy a T3 SATS Premier Lounge pass through LoungePair if you are not eligible for the SilverKris or KrisFlyer Gold lounges
Summary of Available Paid Lounges
At Changi Airport Terminal 2, you have two options for paid access lounges where you can relax and enjoy a variety of amenities before your flight (with direct links here to buy access):
Our recommendation however is to budget, if you can, an extra 20-30 mins to visit the SATS Premier Lounge in Terminal 3 instead. It was renovated in mid-2024 and is a superior lounge to both of the lounges listed above.
