Cat Bi International Airport (HPH): SH Premium Lounge Guide
Last Updated

On this page
Cat Bi International Airport (HPH) is located in the port city of Hai Phong in northeastern Vietnam, and is thus sometimes referred to as Hai Phong Airport.
Located just 8 kilometres from the city centre, the airport connects the region to domestic destinations like Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Da Lat and Da Nang, as well as an increasing number of international routes such as Seoul and Macau.
HPH is a convenient entry point for travellers visiting Hải Phòng, Ha Long Bay, and the surrounding northern coastal areas.
Cat Bi Airport currently operates one main passenger terminal building that handles both domestic and international flights, with a second terminal under construction which will significantly increase the airport’s capacity and help handle growing passenger traffic. VietJet Air, and Vietnam Airlines are among the airlines serving the airport.

There is currently one lounge at Cat Bi: The SH Premium Lounge.
This guide covers access, amenities, and what to expect at the SH Premium Lounge.
The SH Premium Lounge
The SH Premium Lounge has large windows and an open layout, giving it an airy, almost cafe-like environment. It is designed in shades of jade green and has decor inspired by Hai Phong’s emblem: the phoenix flower. Inside you'll find cushioned seating, a self-serve buffet, and massage chairs. The space is relaxed rather than overly formal.

Why Choose the SH Premium Lounge?
Since it’s the only lounge option at Cat Bi Airport, the decision really comes down to whether paying for access to the SH Premium Lounge is worth it compared to staying in the terminal. Here are a few things to weigh up:
Food and drinks: Access includes a complimentary buffet, so everything is in one place. If that convenience matters to you, it could be a better option than relying on terminal outlets.
Noise and atmosphere: Lounges tend to be quieter and more relaxed than the main waiting areas, which can make a difference if you’re looking to unwind or get some work done.
Comfort vs. cost: If you’re focused on saving money, the terminal will likely do the job. But if comfort and a more pleasant waiting experience are priorities, the lounge could be worth the extra spend.

Summing Up
The SH Premium Lounge at Cat Bi International Airport delivers a calm, contemporary experience with some local character. It may be relatively small, but it's a well-rounded place equipped with all the essential amenities and altogether a pleasant place to unwind before your flight.
