On this page

Cat Bi International Airport (HPH) is located in the port city of Hai Phong in northeastern Vietnam, and is thus sometimes referred to as Hai Phong Airport.

Located just 8 kilometres from the city centre, the airport connects the region to domestic destinations like Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Da Lat and Da Nang, as well as an increasing number of international routes such as Seoul and Macau.

HPH is a convenient entry point for travellers visiting Hải Phòng, Ha Long Bay, and the surrounding northern coastal areas.

Cat Bi Airport currently operates one main passenger terminal building that handles both domestic and international flights, with a second terminal under construction which will significantly increase the airport’s capacity and help handle growing passenger traffic. VietJet Air, and Vietnam Airlines are among the airlines serving the airport.

Why Choose the SH Premium Lounge?

Since it’s the only lounge option at Cat Bi Airport, the decision really comes down to whether paying for access to the SH Premium Lounge is worth it compared to staying in the terminal. Here are a few things to weigh up:

  • Food and drinks: Access includes a complimentary buffet, so everything is in one place. If that convenience matters to you, it could be a better option than relying on terminal outlets.

  • Noise and atmosphere: Lounges tend to be quieter and more relaxed than the main waiting areas, which can make a difference if you’re looking to unwind or get some work done.

  • Comfort vs. cost: If you’re focused on saving money, the terminal will likely do the job. But if comfort and a more pleasant waiting experience are priorities, the lounge could be worth the extra spend.
