Dien Bien Phu Airport (DIN): SH Premium Lounge Guide

Điện Biên Airport (DIN) is a small airport located in Dien Bien Phu, the capital of Dien Bien Province in northwestern Vietnam. It is located in a mountainous valley near the Laos border, and primarily handles domestic flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Originally built during the French colonial period, the airport played a strategic role during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954. In recent years, it has undergone major modern upgrades including an extended runway, allowing it to accommodate larger aircraft and increase connectivity with major Vietnamese cities.

The airport also provides access to historical sites, including the Dien Bien Phu battlefield complex, as well as the region’s mountains.

There is currently only one dedicated lounge at Dien Bien Airport: the SH Premium Lounge.

The SH Premium Lounge (or Song Hong Business Lounge) at Dien Bien Airport is a comfortable, compact space located in the domestic departures area. It was designed with Vietnam's mountainous northwest landscapes in mind, so the lounge features wooden accents and furniture.

It's a straightforward lounge, and provides the essentials.

Located in Domestic Departures on the 2nd floor, near Gate 1.

Opening hours can vary according to flight schedules.

Guests can stay at this lounge for a maximum of 3 hours.

Some culinary highlights from the buffet include traditional dishes such as colourful sticky rice and sweet, smoky 'cơm lam' (bamboo-cooked rice).

Light snacks like packaged biscuits and cookies, along with wrapped candies and crackers, are available.
