The Complete Guide to TPE Paid Access Airport Lounges: Plaza Premium and Oriental Club

Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) has five lounges that travellers can access without airline status or flying business or first class: four Plaza Premium lounges and the Oriental Club Lounge.

All are located airside after security, meaning travellers with a same-day departing boarding pass can visit by purchasing access in advance or paying at the door.

For most travellers, choosing a lounge simply comes down to which terminal you are departing from. Terminal 1 has two Plaza Premium lounges, while Terminal 2 also has two Plaza Premium lounges as well as the Oriental Club Lounge.

Three of these lounges also offer shower facilities, which can be useful before a long-haul flight.

The Plaza Premium lounges at Taipei Taoyuan Airport are undergoing renovations through June 2026.

During this period, travellers should use the following lounges:

Until 30 April 2026

• Terminal 1: Use Plaza Premium Lounge Zone C (Zone D is closed)

• Terminal 2: Use Plaza Premium Lounge Zone A (Zone A1 is closed)

1 May–30 June 2026

• Terminal 1: Use Plaza Premium Lounge Zone D (Zone C is closed)

• Terminal 2: Use Plaza Premium Lounge Zone A1 (Zone A is closed)

One Plaza Premium lounge remains open in each terminal throughout the renovation period. Note that you may find this lounge more crowded than usual.

During the renovation period, you can also choose Plaza Premium's "Lounge To-Go" experience, featuring a chef-prepared takeaway meal box, a beverage, and a complimentary gift.

As an alternative, travellers can also use the Oriental Club Lounge in Terminal 2, which is not affected by the renovations.

Passengers should note that it is easy to travel between terminals both before and after security. Walkways link Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, allowing travellers to move either airside or landside between terminals in 10-15 minutes on foot.

Terminal 1 has two Plaza Premium lounges located in Zone C and Zone D. Both are available to travellers departing from the terminal regardless of airline.

This is the main daytime Plaza Premium lounge in Terminal 1 and the one most travellers will naturally use before morning, afternoon and early-evening departures.

Comfortable seating areas include armchairs, dining tables, and workstations with power outlets.

Free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and flight information displays are available throughout the lounge.

Guests can enjoy a buffet selection of hot and cold dishes inspired by Taiwanese and international cuisine. Typical offerings include hot meals, soups, noodles, salads, and light snacks.

This is the main Plaza Premium lounge in Terminal 2 and typically the most convenient option for travellers departing from that terminal.

The lounge features a spacious seating area with dining tables, lounge chairs, and workspaces. Free Wi-Fi and charging stations are available throughout.

Travellers who want more privacy can also book private relaxation suites, which function like small airport hotel rooms with beds and private bathrooms. Typical pricing starts from approximately 4,500 TWD (~US$140) for 6 hours.

We had the pleasure of trying these first-hand on a recent trip to Taiwan.

The room we had contained twin beds, which was perfect for a tired grandfather and his grandson to have a good nap before a very late-night flight.

The Oriental Club Lounge is widely regarded as the best pay-per-use lounge at Taipei Taoyuan Airport and has built a strong reputation among travellers.

It received a Highly Commended Award in the Priority Pass Excellence Awards, effectively naming it as the second-best lounge in the Priority Pass network across the Asia-Pacific region.

One distinctive feature is a small gym, allowing travellers to exercise before their flight.

The lounge also offers a spacious seating area for around 200 travellers along with Wi-Fi, charging stations, meeting rooms, and massage chairs.

The lounge also offers two private VIP rooms for travellers wanting a quieter place to work or rest. These cost from 1,000 TWD (~US$31) for 2 hours.

In most cases, the best Plaza Premium Lounge is simply the one closest to your departure gate.

Travellers departing from Terminal 2 may also want to consider the Oriental Club Lounge, which is often cheaper than the Plaza Premium lounges while offering a wider range of facilities.
