About this lounge

Sitting on Level 2 of Terminal 4's boarding area, this large open-plan lounge offers showers and a full buffet. The food includes hot dishes such as seafood paella, pasta, pizza, and vegetables, alongside cold options such as seasonal fruit, sandwiches, salads and yoghurt. Alcoholic drinks including a selection of beer, spirits, and red, white, rosé and sparkling wines are complimentary, alongside non-alcoholic options including coffee, tea, juices, and soft drinks.

The windows that bring in natural light and there is a wide selection of Spanish newspapers and magazines near the entrance. Work tables sit alongside the general seating area, and the restrooms and shower rooms make it a useful stop before departure. Mornings tend to be quieter, and this lounge is often less busy than the Plaza Mayor VIP Lounge below it.

Yes, Retiro VIP Lounge at Madrid Barajas Airport has shower facilities that are complimentary when you access the lounge using a LoungePair pass. Please note that showers are subject to availability.

With each pass, you receive access to a specific airport lounge to work or relax in before your flight. Most lounges offer Wi-Fi, food, drinks, and other amenities which vary by lounge, in a quiet environment away from the busy terminal. Once you buy a pass, simply add the traveler's name to activate it. You'll also receive a confirmation email with a link to your pass. Yes, your pass is issued as soon as you pay and enter the traveler's name. It can be used right away if you are within the lounge's permitted entry window before your flight and the lounge is open. No advance booking or time selection is generally required.

Lounge entry is only permitted within the time period covered by your pass, counted back from your scheduled flight departure time, in accordance with the lounge's entry rules.

Group bookings made without prior confirmation may be subject to lounge approval on the day, and our refund policy applies to those passes.

On rare occasions, lounges may reach capacity. We guarantee your pass can be used during lounge opening hours, so if you encounter any capacity issues, please contact our support team for assistance.

If you have any issues or concerns during your lounge visit and don't want to proceed with using the lounge after checking in, please approach the reception staff to raise your concerns. If you haven't yet used any of the lounge facilities, these staff may be able to request for your lounge pass redemption to be reversed. Otherwise, your pass will be considered used and is no longer eligible for a refund.

No. A lounge pass entitles you to enter the lounge up to the maximum stay duration, but you aren't entitled to a partial refund if you choose to stay for less time.

  3. On the purchase page for a lounge, select a quantity of two or more passes. This will automatically display the companion pass discount option.
